Our Story

Joywell Center for Seniors was born from a simple yet powerful observation: seniors deserve better than choosing between isolation at home or impersonal institutional care. We envisioned a third option – a vibrant community where professional healthcare meets genuine friendship.

Founded in the heart of Niles, Illinois, Joywell Center emerged from our founder Nelia Ladlad's personal experience caring for aging parents. She saw firsthand the challenges families face when seeking quality day care that treats seniors as individuals, not just patients.

Founder, President & CEO

With extensive experience in healthcare administration and a deep passion for senior care, Nelia founded Joywell Center to create a place where seniors could thrive, not just survive. Her vision combines professional healthcare excellence with genuine compassion, creating an environment where every member feels valued and loved.

Nelia's journey in senior care began when caring for her own aging parents. Experiencing firsthand the challenges families face inspired her to create a better solution – a center that treats seniors with the dignity they deserve while providing families with peace of mind.

Under her leadership, Joywell Center has become known for its innovative programs, exceptional staff-to-member ratio, and commitment to making quality care accessible to all families regardless of their financial situation.
